UK Music Pub of The Year 2010 Finalist!

As current UK Music Pub of the Year holder it is a tremendous achievement to have been selected as a Finalist for 2010. The award ceremony will be held at the Grosvenor Hotel in London on the 21st April. Fingers crossed but whatever happens we are immensely proud of the liaison between Mundell Music and The Inn at Lathones. I am sure that owner Nick and his staff share that pride!

Songs included 'You Gotta Move', 'No Expectations', 'Blind Willie McTell' with it's 'All along the Watchtower inclusion' and the superb 'Twisted Sister'.
It was a privilege to be present infront of the great man.....one of life's great moments.

Mundell, Festivals and the Fred MacCaulay Show

Tuesday 26th Feb 2010 David Mundell was invited to talk Festivals with presenter Fred MacCaulay and guest Jim Gellatly. The debate discussed the merits of the big open air festivals and the downsized versions of which Fifestock is one of the smallest and probably the Best!

The final decision for all concerned seemed to favour the small Festivals - FIFESTOCK WINS!!

The Times - Coal Porters

Great review of the Coal Porters new Album 'Durango' in the Sunday Times, 31st Jan 2010. Sid Griffin and the Band deserve the accolades.
Review read.....
SID GRIFFIN'S 1980'S BAND THE LONG RYDERS WERE ALTERNATIVE COUNTRY'S FORGOTTEN PROGENITORS. TODAY GRIFFIN OFFERS INSTEAD A MILDER ELECTRIC BLUEGRASS WITH THE COAL PORTERS. DICK SMITH'S BREATHLESS BANJO PICKING AND CARLY FREY'S FLEET FIDDLE POWER THE STANDARDS; THE GUITARIST NEIL ROBERT HERD OFFERS THE WESTERN SWING - FLAVOURED 'THE SQUEAKY WHEEL GETS THE OIL'; AND GRIFFIN'S GULF WAR NARRATIVE, 'PERMANENT TWIGHLIGHT', SOUNDS LIKE SOME VINTAGE ANTI VIETNAM SONG BY A FORMER BYRD FLYING SOLO.
