Mundell Music launch Business venture in the Daily Express

SMALL hotels and country inns could be saying thank you to the music with a new service that arranges quality live gigs for audiences of up to 100.

Innovator David Mundell promises to pull in the punters and get them in the bar, dining room and bedrooms too.

His most recent coup was to line up ex-Rolling Stone Mick Taylor to play at The Inn At Lathones in Fife. The intimate concert brought in fans from as far afield as Japan.

The 53-year-old entrepreneur developed the idea of gig promotion to improve revenues while running his own hotel in north-east Scotland

Adding live music can significantly boost hotel revenues

Music promoter devises roll-out programme to take winning formula across the UK

Award-winning hotelier and music promoter, David Mundell of Mundell Music, plans to share the secrets of his success with hoteliers across the UK.

The creator of the Fifestock festivals, Mundell, 53, has worked with acts such as Mick Taylor, Curtis Stigers and Ian ‘Mac’ McLagan during his 12 years in the music business. Live music events have had a significant impact on sales at his previously-owned hotel The Bein Inn in Perthshire, and during the last 2 years working in collaboration with The Inn at Lathones in Fife.

Mundell claims that by introducing a quality live music programme, hoteliers can create an additional revenue stream throughout the year that will show continual growth, even through an economic downturn. He has spent the past 12 months devising a roll-out programme that covers every aspect of the process from equipment and lighting, to booking artists and marketing.

Mundell commented: “As record numbers of hotels face hardship due to trading difficulties, the ever-changing market place and the economy, I noticed an opportunity to share my successful approach to music promotion. Independent hotels, inns and brewers need to add value if we are to survive.”

As well as the set-up programme, Mundell Music is also offering an annual music marketing programme that can be used by experienced music providers as well as those looking to commence a programme from scratch.
