Paul & Fred (Little Feat)

Hello Everyone!
The weather here in Anstruther is cold to say the least...The coal fire is blazing up the chimney as we speak! The dog's love it!
We are booking for November at the moment and we are having Paul Barrere & Fred Tackett from Little Feat coming to see us! That's one to put in your diary!
We have been Land Rover hunting in the last few weeks and finally I think that we have found one. They are great machines and very versatile...trips to the cash & carry etc etc and useful in adverse weather conditions. The model I prefer is the Defender 90 SWB. I hope to travel up to the north of Scotland later on in the year so that will be an adventure.
November proves to be an incredible month for music. In addition to Paul & Fred we have Andy Fairweather Low and Dennis Locorriere here as well....Better get saving I suppose!!!!!
Talking of money and saving etc etc....we are about to launch a Loyalty Card scheme...so everytime you buy a ticket, drink, food or accommodation you will collect 'points' that can be redeemed against future purchases....the more you spend the more you save. Can't be bad.

Recent Tunes we've been listening to are....
1) Jonathan Kelly - DOWN ON ME.
2) John David Souther - YOUR TURN NOW.
3) John Hiatt - EVERYBODY WENT LOW
4) John Mellencamp - SMALL TOWN.
5) Jimmy Webb - POSTCARD FROM PARIS.
6) Del Amitri - HERE AND NOW.
7) Carole King - READ BETWEEN THE LINES.
8) Beach Boys - HERE SHE COMES.
9) Andrea Glass - WE COULD BE OVER.
10) Rolling Stones - HAND OF FATE.

Happy Listening
Cheers
David

UK Music Pub of the Year - WINNER!

Hi !
Well....we were awarded the prestigious 'Music Pub Of The Year'
It certainly is a great award to have and I personally feel that it is the culmination of around the last three years. So lets drink to that and my thanks go to .....all the Musicians, the audiences, the Inn and everyone at Mundell Music!
Awards were presented at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane in London by none other than Des O'Connor. Drink was consumed in vast quantities and a good time was had by all.
Wished that I could have stayed in London for about another 5 days but it was'nt to be I'm afraid.
Off to the Pub now!
Cheers

Al Perkins

Hi Everyone,
Here is a picture from around 1971 I think of that incredible and greatly overlooked group 'Stephen Stills Manassas'. Go and buy their first album which was a double and you will not be disappointed! Of course the Band featured Mr.Al Perkins who you can see in the picture on the far right...some hair eh! The picture was taken outside of Stills house in Surrey which once belonged to Peter Sellers and thereby goes another few stories probably for another day!
All of you can come to the Inn at Lathones on Sunday 8th March where Al Perkins will be appearing with the Band 'Two Fingers of Firewater" Dont Miss it!
Regards
David

Big Country

Hi,
New blog, new home. Fifestock keeps on going and going! Next Gig is the double header with Bruce Watson and Lee Patterson on Friday night. Should be a good night. I have been speaking to quite a few Bands who are on the Road at the moment and everyone agrees that ticket sales are a hard pull at the moment and Dave Pegg (Fairport Convention) was saying that Merchandise is not selling at all - all signs that everyone has no cash!
Al Perkins will be here on Sunday and I just hope that we have a decent crowd. Everyone should try to see him. He has an incredible history. Manassas,CSNY,Eagles,Rolling Stones....need I go on?

Latest Tunes that I have been listening to are ;
1) Burton Cummings - We just came from the USA
2)Issac Hayes - Shaft
3) Harry Chapin - W.O.L.D.
4) Steve Gibbons Band - Where was I last night ?
5) Henry McCullough - Too Late To Worry.
6) Burton Cummings - Above The Ground
7) Kris Kristofferson - Sunday Morning Coming Down
8) Byrds - Gunga Din
9) Faces - Ooh lala
10) Wings - Big Barn Bed

Cheers
David
